OTP: Chapter 1. Part 9.

DJ hadn’t heard from Payne in over a day.  While they had been spending lots of time together and had sex several times, there was no hint of a true stated commitment in sight.  DJ was starting to question the status of his relationship with Payne.  Today was Christmas and he hadn’t heard from Payne at all.

DJ travelled back to his hometown recounting so many different situations between he and Payne.  He was trying to make sense of everything throughout the Christmas break.  He knew he wanted Payne but wasn’t certain what Payne wanted.  In that moment, DJ resolved to simply respond to Payne and not contact him.  It was the only type of power he could reasonably assert in that situation.  DJ wanted more but Payne seemed to be hedging his bets.

Christmas just wasn’t the same anymore.  All his cousins his age had moved on with their lives, as did he.  There was no one for him to spend time with.  He remembered his mom said she would spend time with her friend.  Their two families had grown up together so he thought he would see them there.  So, he made his way to his old football coach’s home.  His football coach happened to be the brother of his mother’s best friends.

As he arrived he noticed his clothing.  His mother was a stickler for appearance.  DJ was wearing jeans, loafers and a polo shirt.  The shirt was fitted - extra fitted.  It wasn’t a look his mom liked that much.  So, he picked up a jacket he got from a friend.  It was a flannel red and black jacket that looked more like a shirt.  To DJ, he looked a mess but it was better than the fitted shirt he was wearing; he knew that would send his mother to another place.

As DJ walked up to the house, he could hear these adults engaged in adult conversations.  What they were saying wasn’t a surprise to him.  However, to hear the people he looked up to having adult conversations about sex, flirting with each other and promising to cheat on their wives and husbands or times when they had, it was a bit too disconcerting for him.

Then he saw his mother.  She had a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other.  DJ saw his mother flirting with his old football coach.  Not two seconds later he learned from other people there that his father, DJ’s father, stole his mother from his football coach.  The two of them were dating when his dad came along.  His mom was now flirting with the man that could have been his father.  That was a troubling topic for DJ.  He had never known or even met his father.  His father died before he was born and his mother refused to share any information about his father.

Still, DJ took the whole scene in and never reacted.  He was standing in the kitchen.  The house looked like a throwback from the 1980s.  The walls to this brick house were lined with wood paneling.  The cabinets had brass knobs and the furniture in the living room looked like they had seen better decades. He could tell there hadn’t been much work put into the house.  It also had an odor that matched what he remembered his coach smelled like.  It smelled like a man who forgot to put on deodorant and didn’t wash.  It was a mixture of musk and body oils.

He asked for a beer and the women there responded by looking at his mom.  She gave a look like she didn’t care as she walked into the living room.  It was in that moment that DJ realized he was drinking alcohol in his mom’s presence; it was something he had never done before.

He drank his beer and talked to a few people.  They were truly interested in his life since he left his hometown to go to college.  Most of the people there had gone to college so they were more interested in how many women he had or if he had any kids coming.  DJ took that as a compliment.  In their own way, they were acknowledging how attractive he was.  It was something he had grown accustomed to in the years since he had gone to college.

But, this was also a troubling topic for him.  Sure, DJ was gay.  He knew he was gay.  They didn’t know he was gay.  But, there was no way they should have expected him to have kids coming. That was unthinkable to him.  He usually answered questions and prodding like this with vague and coy responses followed with a grin and this situation was no different.  DJ laughed it all off.

He asked for another beer just as his mom’s cousin walked through the door.  It had been nearly five years since she had been home so people hugged her and exchanged pleasantries.  DJ was surprised to see her as well.  Someone handed her two beers, one for her and one for DJ.  Trina handed him the beer and started a conversation.

The last time DJ saw Trina was when he, his mom and sister all lived in Dallas.  He was in the sixth grade at the time so that was nine years ago.  The four of them all lived there together for some time.

“I like your look.  You look good,” said Trina.  She made these comments as she scanned the room.  They were still standing in the kitchen at the time but additional people were in the living room and another room down the hall.

DJ was shocked by that statement.  He was wearing a flannel jacket.  How could anyone “look good” in a flannel jacket?  He had to wonder whether she was teasing him.

“When you were younger and we lived in Dallas, I used to think you were gay.  You used to annoy me to no end.  I’m glad you’re not gay.  I can tell you’re straight.  You’re drinking beer, your voice is deeper, your stance is strong and looking manly.  But boy you are so handsome,” she added.

Trina’s admission was long enough to hide DJ’s shock and fury.  However, he wondered, “How the hell you knew I was gay when I didn’t know until recently?”

As Trina spoke, DJ kept a measured look on his face.  He wasn’t smiling nor was he scowling either.  Instead he looked at her intently like she was saying something that was a statement of fact.  Indeed, all these things were true.

However, they weren’t his truth.  DJ reminded himself, “I am gay.  I hate beer.  I’m only drinking beer because I noticed all the men in the house drinking it so I followed along.  I’m wearing the flannel to hide this tight polo.  Damn!  I’m still hiding.  I’m not mad at her.  I’m mad at myself for hiding who I really am.  But I’m not ready to come out yet.”

“It’s cool.  Have you seen my mom?  When was the last time you two talked,” asked DJ?

DJ had mastered deflection years ago.  Trina fully took the bait.  DJ knew full well his mom had problems with Trina but she never voiced those concerns around him.  She was very careful not to comment negatively around him.  But he could always hear her when she thought he was preoccupied.  Right now, he needed his mom’s hatred to come to his defence.

Trina took the bait and looked harder into the crowd.  DJ pointed to his mother, whose back was to both of them.  Trina walked over in her direction.  As she did, others saw her and began to announce her presence.  In that moment, DJ’s mom turned and saw Trina.  Her look was one of rage.  She sipped more beer to correct herself.

DJ knew his mom was calming herself down.  Pretty soon, the entire room would understand his mom would have a problem with Trina and someone would be suggesting she leave.  But DJ had seen his mom go toe to toe with men before and knew Trina was no match for his mom.  Right now, she was calm.  She had been drinking and too many people were around.  As a rule, people on his mom’s side of the family showed great restraint, especially when they are in public.  His mom would not disappoint this standard.  It was a trait DJ also had in spades.

DJ could feel his phone buzzing.  As he pulled it out of his pocket he saw the initials PS, it was Payne calling.  He could not suppress the urge to smile.  By this point, everyone was noticing the disdain on his mom’s face and didn’t notice DJ slipping outside to answer the call.

It had gotten cooler just that fast.  In this moment, DJ was glad he had his flannel jacket.

“How’s my Donnie,” asked Payne?

DJ could be goofy at times and this was one of those moments.  DJ could not respond because he was smiling and couldn’t will himself to stop and respond.

“Hello. Hello.”  Payne could hear background noise but couldn’t hear DJ.

Finally, DJ willed himself into responding by saying, “I’m here.  I just had to walk outside.  I was in a room full of people.  How’s your family?”

“Everyone is fine.  I’ve just been thinking about you all day.  I wish we didn’t live on opposite sides of the state.”  Payne was from an area outside of Destin, Florida, which was hours away from DJ.  It wasn’t realistic for either of them to be in the moment and see each other.  However, this is exactly what DJ wanted to do in that moment.

“I’m glad you and your family are doing well, Payne.”

“How’s your sister?  And how is your mom?”

“My sister is fine.  I haven’t seen her most of the day though.  But my mom is okay.  She’s being who she is.”

The two had talked about each other’s family.  Though they had never met each other’s family they knew a lot about them through the eyes of each other.  They shared the good and the bad but always the love.  Their relationships with their families were complex but that was normal.  They supported each other the best they could to the point where they pushed each other to do tough things, which only made their relationships with their families stronger.

After they talked about each other’s family, Payne brought up the Informational he wanted DJ to attend.  It felt like they were in some sort of partnership.  It felt good.  But DJ couldn’t help but wonder what Payne would get from him in return.

*******

At the end of the Christmas break, DJ woke up and sent Aaron and Hakeem a text to confirm their time to leave for Tallahassee.  The three had been friends since DJ’s junior year in high school.  They all went to the same church and in high school it was both Aaron and Hakeem who motivated DJ to work harder academically.  Just being friends with them motivated him, it was nothing they had done specifically.  Ironically, by the time they all got to college, it was DJ who was the strongest of the trio, academically.  Aaron was a year ahead of both of them.

While they drove, they discussed many things, but the one thing that was most on their minds was why DJ had been ghost all the time, recently.  Cornered, DJ could only respond by asking, “What do you mean?”

Aaron was the bold one of the duo.  “Don’t even bother lying.  Your roommate, Eugene, confirmed you don’t spend too many nights in the dorm room.”

Without skipping a beat, DJ added, “I don’t but I don’t understand why that is so much of a concern for you.  I never ask where any of you are or what you are doing.  To be honest, I treat you like the adults you are.  If there are parts of your life that isn’t my business then I don’t make it my business.”

Hakeem had a quiet way about him but when he spoke it was at times very absolute.  Somehow, something DJ said struck a chord with Hakeem.

“You’re right.  It’s none of our business,” added Hakeem.

Aaron looked like the wind had been sucked out of his sails.  He wasn’t too pleased with how the conversation had suddenly turned.  He was going to push this farther.

“I don’t understand.  We tell you everything.”

“Actually, no you don’t.  It is true that I’m in the room when you tell your business, but if I’m not in the room I don’t learn anything.  None of you go out of your way to tell me anything about your lives.  It just so happens that I’ve never told anyone my business or that of my family unless I thought of them as family.  Hell, if I happen to be in my room when we normally go to dinner you will call the girls, Marcus, Owen but not me.  I am continuously excluded.  If it weren’t for the girls then I wouldn’t even be a thought for any of you.”

“But I think of you as family.”

This truly pissed DJ off.  Nevermind the intrusion into his personal business, DJ firmly believed Aaron to be lying.  DJ never felt like he was truly part of the group.  He always felt closer to the girls.  Maybe that was because as he was becoming more and more of who he was as a person and so he pulled away from the fellas.

Nevertheless, there was never any proof the guys were close to him.  In fact, there were times DJ was told to his face that he wasn’t wanted or needed around.  It was because of the girls that he was often invited.  DJ had enough self-respect for himself and inner strength that he never really let that affect him on a deeper level.  His life was changing and he saw alternatives even before they rejected him.

In fact, DJ found it all rather ironic that they would even care that he was “missing”.  He felt that if anyone would have been upset it would have been Chelsea and by extension Danielle, Evette, B’onca and Rihanni.  He would often spend time with them when the fellas were nowhere to be found.

So, when Aaron felt he was in the space to call DJ “family”, DJ blew up.

“You ain't my fucking family.  You weren’t my family when y’all made trips back home and left me on campus all those times without telling me.  Yall weren’t my family when I told y’all I wanted to run for a position in SGA my sophomore year and you, Aaron, actively tried to talk me out of it.  Family, at least my definition of family, doesn’t try to hold you back.  Family supports and motivates.  When the fuck have you ever done any of those things for me?  I just met Chelsea and she does more for me than any of you do collectively.  So what?  What?  Tell me.”

The power, passion and hurt in DJ’s voice was thick.  It rang in his car.  It could not be denied.  It was also the first time they saw themselves in DJ’s eyes.  They were embarrassed.  They, both Aaron and Hakeem, truly did see DJ as part of their family and yet they could not deny his claims.  It was clear they had taken DJ for granted.

The rest of the ride to Dawn was quiet.

When they arrived, DJ was tired from the drive because he drove the entire distance without Aaron or Hakeem’s help.  He planned to simply hang out in his room and just study for a class.

Then, DJ got a text from Payne telling him to dress in a suit and tie and arrive at the frat house at exactly 6 p.m.  DJ did as instructed without responding to the text.

Thank you for your continued support! Please forward, share or tell someone about the stories. Thanks again!

OTP: Chapter 1. Part 8.

After the Senate meeting, DJ decided to go to his dorm room to reflect. His roommate would no doubt be in the Engineering lab working on an assignment. DJ wanted to gather his thoughts on the meeting that just ended.

By the time he got to his room, however, his thoughts seemed to center on Payne and the prospect of becoming a member of Epsilon. His thoughts led to his return to Payne's apartment following Homecoming.

*******

DJ could hear keys at the door and knew it was Payne trying to get into the apartment.  DJ sat up on the sofa and picked up the packet of “history” Payne gave him to study.  DJ quickly eyeballed everything to make certain he was ready for the interrogation he knew he would face from Payne, once he entered.
When DJ returned from Dawn, he spent a couple of hours studying the information and watching TV when he needed a break. After a few minutes of looking over everything DJ recognized several patterns.  Recognizing patterns was a gift of DJ’s and as a result he was able to quickly memorize the information.

Payne is far more concerned about his image than DJ.  As a result, DJ has long since learned not to greet Payne at the door with a hug and kiss.  DJ would wait until Payne closed the door and set his bag down to react to his entrance.  As Payne placed his bag down it was then that DJ realized Payne was on the phone.  Instead of speaking or hugging DJ, Payne walked straight to the bathroom.  While in the bathroom, Payne continued talking in hushed tones.

DJ used the time to study the poems.  He had originally neglected to study the poems thinking they couldn’t possibly be part of the history he would be expected to remember in one day’s time.  DJ didn’t consider the poems to be history so he didn’t even look at them.

But because Payne was in the bathroom DJ had more time to look at the history and realized a couple of the poems were specifically related to Epsilon.  He knew he had to memorize the poems and fast.  But he couldn’t shake the feeling that he should be concerned about Payne’s conversation on the cell phone.

DJ shook off his misgivings and allowed himself to believe the call was simply about his fraternity’s business.  It was then DJ heard the shower run but he did not hear the toilet flush.  Panic set in.  DJ didn’t know how to respond.  He had no proof, just a feeling.  If someone told him he was cheating because he didn’t flush a toilet he would have erupted.  Instead, DJ decided he would do what he normally did; he would ask a series of questions designed to learn the truth.

In the meantime, he resolved himself to learn the easier poems and work himself into the harder poems.  One thing for sure, these poems are truly inspirational.  If these poems were an indication of what DJ was about to become a member of, he, yet again, felt he was making the right decision.

Once Payne finished with his shower and all the primping rituals he normally went through following a shower, he made his way to DJ and gave him a big hug and kiss.  But DJ would not be persuaded to fall for this tactic.

“Have you been studying,” asked Payne?  By this point, Payne sat down next to DJ on the living room sofa.

“Of course I have.  I found it all rather repetitive, which made it easier to remember.  I don’t understand how anyone would have a hard time learning this.  To be honest, the poems are the hardest part, but even they have a sort of rhythm” responded DJ.

“Is that so?  Well, let me see what you recall.”

After a few minutes of questioning and answering, Payne was satisfied in DJ’s progress.  Then, Payne did something DJ had never seen from him.  Payne asked a series of questions in rapid succession and in an intimidating manner.  DJ was so put off by this that he could not answer the questions and stuttered to get anything out.  Payne hollered from the foolish spectacle of it all.

DJ was embarrassed and visibly mad.  Seeing these emotions on DJ’s face, Payne explained, “You better get used to that because this is how it will be if you get on the line.  And please know that is not the worst of it.  By the way, what do you think you will experience while you are on the line?”

“Well, to be honest, I don’t really know.  What I anticipate is a lot of paddling.”

“What else?”

“There is more to it than that?”

“Yeah!  Haven’t you seen School Daze or even Stomp the Yard?”

“No.  I’ve heard of them.  Well, to be honest, I’ve seen parts of both.  But I don’t remember anything about them pledging.”

“It’s not the major part of it but they do a pretty good job of explaining what takes place.  In fact, I have a bootleg copy of Stomp the Yard.  We should watch it right now.”

“Cool.  How was your meeting tonight?  When you came back on your phone and not talking much I just assumed things didn’t end the way you wanted them to.”

“Oh the meeting went well.  We will have a line.  But you need to know that I will not advocate for you.  You have to sell yourself.  I have lost a good bit of influence within the chapter over the last line so if I fight for you then if something happens to you later on I won’t be able to help you.  Also, remember, Tommy will have access to you during this process.”

“That makes sense.  So, then, who were you on the phone with, when you walked back in?”

“I was talking to my mom.  Tank lied to her about playing basketball when he knows we both told him today he was on punishment and couldn’t leave the house.  My grandfather was whipping him.  I was listening.  When my grandfather was finished I talked to him telling him why he was being whipped then I told him that I loved him but expected better from him.”

“Oh wow!  I didn’t realize your son was that old.”  DJ didn’t believe the story but decided to focus on what he felt was a truth in the story.

“He’s seven.”

“That’s what’s up.”  DJ forced a laugh.  He wanted Payne to feel secure in responding after what would follow.  “If he’s anything like his father then he’s hardheaded.  I’m certain he will need that pep talk again.  And I applaud you for being part of his life even though you are so far away.”

“Yeah.  I try my best.  It’s not a perfect situation.  I miss him so much.  Sometimes I wonder if I’m doing the right thing.”

“Oh you are.  You’re in college to hopefully make more money, which will only help him in the future.  As he gets older he will come to understand that if he doesn’t now.  But, why were you in the bathroom for so long though and then showered with your clothes in there with you?”

Payne’s face showed how caught off guard he was with the questions.  All he could do was shake his head in the positive but under the circumstances this meant nothing to DJ. Finally, Payne asked, “Why do you ask?”

“Honestly, the whole situation was atypical behavior for you.  You never walk in on the phone, never go straight to the bathroom, never talk on the phone in the bathroom, never shower with your clothes in there with you, and you never talk low when you are on the phone.  I normally know everything you’re talking about even when you are in another room.”

“Well, I thought I needed to use the restroom after being in meetings all day but I couldn’t.  I was already in there so I just took a shower, that’s all.”

“Okay.  Just asked. So was it a stressful day for you?”

“Just a little.  We have so many neophytes in the chapter now that they make silly comments and that throws us off track.  Some of them shoulda never been made.  All they wanna do is haze but don’t want to do the work of the fraternity.”

“What is the work of the fraternity?”  DJ wanted to state the obvious that should he and his line brothers cross, that they will add to that immaturity.  He thought better than to make the comment in this moment.

“You’re trying to pledge my fraternity and you don’t know what work we do!”

“Am I supposed to know what work you all do?  Y’all don’t really tell people what you do besides service projects and even with those no one really knows what the specifics are with those service projects.  I helped with the scrapbook and still don’t have a good idea.  I mean, I learned about and read your International Points but other than the words, I don’t really know what that means.  How has your fraternity affected the lives, long-term, of the people you have come in contact with?  And to be honest, I would assume that to be true of most people as it relates to all Greek-lettered organizations.”

That was an honest critique DJ just gave Payne.  Payne knew it and immediately accepted its truth.  To be  fair, those were thoughts Payne privately held.  He was amazed someone who was not in the organization could have so eloquently diagnose a problem he knew few in his fraternity could make as well.  This conversation reignited Payne’s faith in DJ’s intelligence.  He needed someone else like DJ in the chapter.

“That might be true.  Which one of our International Points were you most interested in?”  Payne asked the question to determine where DJ should be placed within the chapter’s leadership once he became a member.

“Of the five, I think it would be “Each One, Teach One” because it promotes education.  In my family, education was central to how we were raised.  There was never a question that we would complete high school.  And several of us were pushed to go to college.  It actually reminds me of one of your founders.  The one who kept chartering chapters everywhere.  He was an educator then served as the CEO of another major organization for blacks.  If I were a member of your fraternity, I would follow the mold left by him.”

“I see you really have studied.  Good.  That means I can take these sheets from you.”  Internally, Payne saw DJ as a leader of the chapter.  Perhaps he could serve as a leader of the chapter’s service but that has never been a springboard to the presidency of the chapter.

“I’m cool with that.”  While Payne talked, DJ could see just how truly delighted he was that DJ studied.  DJ returned Payne’s delight with a look that let Payne know he was interested in far more than words.

Payne, understanding the look, jumped up and went for his cell phone’s playlist and hurriedly walked to his bedroom to adjust the wireless bluetooth speaker’s volume.  As Payne did these things DJ slowly pulled off each piece of clothes he had on, while in the living room.  As he did, Payne’s dick grew bigger and bigger each time he stole quick looks in DJ’s direction.  Payne was busy lighting candles and choosing a playlist.  He had an affinity for red scented candles and 80s and 90s R&B music.

The attention from Payne made DJ feel more and more comfortable with his body.  Payne loved every inch of DJ’s body.

DJ didn’t want to start in the bedroom this time.  He used his finger and beckoned Payne to him.  Payne, by this point, was lusting for DJ.  DJ knew sex was Payne’s weakness.  But, he also didn’t trust Payne’s story about why he was on the phone in the bathroom.

DJ thought he would make Payne have sex with him to judge how quick he cums and how much cum he would leave inside him.  Payne was not dissimilar from most men.  After the first load, Payne could have sex at least an hour before cumming again.  In those circumstances, if he did cum, it wasn’t much that DJ had to push out.  DJ didn’t plan this out before this moment and yet it was a full-fledged plan.

DJ recognized the song playing at the moment, “Lay Your Head on My Pillow” by Tony! Toni! Tone!.  It was actually music his mom played growing up so he never really had a problem with the music, it was actually very romantic and something they had in common.

As Payne made his way to DJ, DJ decided he would suck Payne’s dick.  He hadn’t done that in a while and felt that it was time to give him a treat.  Doing that wasn’t something DJ liked to do and certainly not often.  DJ slowly began to get into a kneeling position.  Payne got extra excited knowing what was coming and “started jumping in his clothes”.

DJ started by kissing Payne’s stomach.  Instinctively, Payne’s head fell backwards and accepted the pleasure DJ was giving him.  As he kissed Payne’s stomach DJ’s hands were slowly sliding Payne’s pajamas and underwear off.  Once all off, DJ started by licking Payne’s balls.  He made his tongue reach around the sack until it met the area between the balls and his hole.  This was a tender area for Payne so he reacted.  This pleased DJ immensely.

Just then, the song ended and Usher’s “Seduction” started playing.  DJ’s actions started to follow the rhythm of the song.  Even his body moved in a slow gyrating motion that matched the tempo.

He made Payne sit on the sofa.  As Payne slowly moved, DJ readied himself to pull the clothes from Payne’s ankles.  Once those clothes were out of his way, he moved up toward Payne’s lips and kissed him softly but lovingly; his body was still matching the beat of the song.  Then he started pulling off Payne’s t-shirt while he continued to kiss him.  With the t-shirt up to Payne’s neck, almost like a strangle hold, their kiss intensified, then, all of a sudden, DJ went to Payne’s left nipple and started first by gently allowing his tongue to touch his hardened nipple.

Payne sucked in air through his teeth, which let DJ know he liked that.  So he stopped and this time had his tongue circle his nipple.  Now, annoyed by the t-shirt, Payne quickly removed it.

DJ went for the head of Payne’s dick.  This surprised Payne.  DJ could taste his precum.  He took the precum and used it to wet Payne’s head more.  DJ knew this was a sensitive area for him and he exploited that.  When that was done he continued to wet the rest of his dick.  After a while of sucking his dick, DJ went for his right nipple and sucked it.  This time, Payne’s reaction was both audible and his body jolted.

But DJ acted as if this was to be expected.  He kept sucking.  After a short while, he took his spit and let it fall onto Payne’s nine inches.  While he continued to suck his nipple he used the spit to stroke Payne’s dick.  The combination of the two points of stimulation occurring at once made Payne moan; DJ knew the anticipation was mounting.

But for DJ he had two goals.  He had to please his man and he needed Payne to cum inside him.  By this point in their relationship, both Payne and DJ had grown to like the intimacy that having Payne’s cum inside DJ afforded them.

Still stroking what DJ was now longing for, DJ moved from Payne’s nipple and back to his lips.  Feeling the moment, Payne brought his hands up and held DJ’s head in both of his hands and kissed him passionately.  If DJ didn’t know it before, he knew now that everything he was doing was working.  DJ knew he couldn’t force Payne’s hands off of his head but he knew if he moved his body back down as if he were about to complete what he had started, Payne would let loose his grip.  And that is exactly what happened.

As DJ went down, he kept his gaze on Payne.  Their eyes were connected as DJ started working on Payne’s impressive night stick.  DJ tried to get as much of it in his mouth but Payne’s dick had a curve that made the head touch the seat of the sofa, which made it difficult to take it all in at once.  Understanding the barrier, Payne motioned for DJ to stand.  Payne held DJ’s hand as he motioned for him to walk into the bedroom.

Once in the bedroom, Payne forcefully pushed DJ onto the bed.  DJ was caught off guard but appreciated the action.  They both liked rough play.  Payne then caught DJ’s legs and pulled him closer to him.  Payne was still standing near the side of the bed.  He flipped DJ over so that DJ was now on his stomach, then commanded, “Get on your knees.”

DJ simply complied.  DJ still hadn’t grown accustomed to the size of Payne’s dick.  Every time they had sex while on his stomach he still felt more pain than pleasure.  But DJ was determined to suck it up and endure. He needed Payne’s cum.

While DJ was plotting, Payne was certainly no virgin and used to women using their bodies to get his attention.  He wondered whether DJ was trying to get something from him.  He felt like DJ was forcing sex.  Payne loved sex so much he really didn’t care but couldn’t figure out what DJ could possibly want.  Then, Payne realized perhaps this was DJ’s way of thanking him for making a way for him to pledge Epsilon.

Payne reached for the Astroglide in his nightstand.  Just then, the song changed to Bilal’s “Soul Sista.”  Payne slapped DJ’s ass.  DJ laughed.  DJ always laughed when Payne slapped his ass.  Payne never really slapped it as much as he was just moving his hands in the air and happened to connect with his body.  Payne laughed, too, knowing that it didn’t deliver the required effect.

“What do you wanna do,” asked Payne?

“I know I wanna surprise you tonight and I want you to surprise me, too.”

Payne never heard DJ talk like that.  Payne was so excited by that he forgot to lube up DJ.  He had only put lube on himself.  DJ, by nature, is extremely tight but Payne wasn’t one for taking things slow.  This caused DJ to let out a shout of excruciating pain.  Usually, this would cause DJ to demand Payne exit his body.  This time, DJ found a pillow to holler into with each massive thrust.  There was no pleasure in this love making for DJ, at the moment.  In fact, tears started swelling in his eyes.  DJ held his own head down to force his head down.  The pillow carefully collected the tears from his eyes and the slob from his yells.
Payne, on the other hand, did not register this as pain.  He enjoyed every moment, the tightness and the warmth.  His animal nature had taken hold of him.

He especially enjoyed how DJ wasn’t pushing him away.  As he continued to feel deeper and deeper parts of DJ, his animal urges continued to intensify.  He reached for DJ’s head and found his neck and pulled his neck back with one large thrust toward him until DJ’s back was perfectly arched.  Payne found a rhythm that was twice as fast as the song.

Suddenly, DJ could feel Payne swell.  This told DJ that Payne was ready to cum. DJ had his answer; this was much too quick.

Instead, Payne stopped and told DJ to lay on his back.  DJ complied and moved his head toward the headboard.  DJ knew that missionary was not Payne’s favorite position.  But DJ couldn’t take any other position.  DJ needed to stay in this position for as long as possible.  DJ saw the window above and told Payne to move further down the bed in a diagonal position.  As Payne moved so did DJ.  Payne’s feet were dangling over the edge of the feet and right side of the bed.  It was then that Payne understood what DJ was doing.

DJ’s right leg was being held by the bottom of the window while he took the left leg to match the width of the right leg.  His foot was now at the headboard while his head fit snuggly between the brick wall and the moving headboard.  DJ took his foot and wrapped it around the top of the headboard to keep it in place.

He had successfully put himself into a spread eagle position.  Payne looked down and noticed how wide and easy it was for him to reach what he knew was about to be the softest place on Earth.

And now Maxwell’s “Ascension” started playing.

This time, Payne added more lube, to DJ’s satisfaction.  Payne took his dick and played with the hole a bit.  He put his head in it a couple of times to test it almost like a puppy afraid to play with a new toy.  Finally, satisfied with how it felt, he jammed every inch of him into DJ.  It was in that moment that DJ truly felt a man touch his stomach.  It was both frightening and pleasurable.

The experience made DJ forget he was after something.  Instead, he was now simply enjoying the moment.  Payne used every muscle in his body to freak DJ.  He made it his mission to make DJ feel him.  DJ spent this time tearing into Payne’s back and holding his head as they kissed.  Payne didn’t feel the pain being inflicted on him by DJ.  For Payne, this was some animalistic feeling that he had to continue experiencing.  He was starting to grunt and sweat so much that droplets were falling onto DJ’s face as if they were in a shower.

DJ was feeling both pain and pleasure.  It was in this moment that the pain he felt was greeted as a form of pleasure he wanted all the time.  He would not allow Payne to deny him this feeling again.

And just as he finally relaxed every part of his body for the first time, DJ could feel Payne’s dick grow wider.  Payne’s back arched and let out one last thrust, which forced DJ to let out a short and loud gasp of relief.

Payne’s lifeless body now lay atop DJ.  DJ grabbed Payne in a bear hug.  Both of them were covered with Payne’s sweat.  They were both covered with his sweat and the stickiness of the lube.

In these moments, DJ felt a need to hold Payne.  This was not a gesture reciprocated by Payne.  DJ dismissed it as him being too tired in that moment to steal extra energy.

After they both laid there, tired and exhausted from their recent mental and physical journey, their heavy breaths allowed each other to ask how the other was and whether they were pleased.

Payne was so excited he begged DJ for a second round.  DJ, remembering his earlier mission, agreed but made the caveat that they sleep for an hour or so to allow his body to recover a bit.  Almost on cue, Payne fell asleep.

DJ got out of the bed and headed to the toilet and sat down.  He waited a couple of minutes and out slid what looked like a week’s worth of build up.  DJ was instantly embarrassed he hadn’t shown Payne any trust but realized this was a better method than accusing him.  DJ still had his doubts but washed up and went back to bed with Payne.

OTP: Chapter 1. Part 7.

DJ woke up to the smell of grits and eggs.  He could tell that Payne must have been out of the bed for a while.  He could hear Payne in the other room pecking away on his laptop and could see the fog and water on the floor from a shower Payne must have recently had in the bathroom.

DJ moved extremely slow as he tried to get out of the bed.  His body was sore from the night before.  He didn’t mind the pain because he felt pleasure from it and knew the feeling would fade shortly. As he moved he decided to greet Payne in the other room.  DJ was still naked but didn’t think about that in this moment.  He felt a sense of euphoria from the night before.

As DJ turned the corner from Payne’s bedroom to move into the other bedroom, he heard a small printer clicking. As DJ walked up, he noticed Payne was reviewing information related to his fraternity.  DJ asked, “What are you doing?”

Payne was startled by DJ’s entrance but happy to see him.  Payne motioned for DJ to come closer to him but didn’t turn around.  DJ thought Payne wanted to show affection.  Instead, Payne asked, “Do you know what this is?”

“Something for your fraternity.  Oh, can I use your laptop so I can finish writing a speech I have to give later today?”

“Sure,” replied Payne.  As Payne started talking, DJ grabbed the back of Payne’s neck.  DJ really wanted to hug and kiss Payne but the best thing he could do in this moment was to give Payne a massage.  As he gave Payne a massage, he noted the iron was hot.  Payne was going to wear a suit and tie but only had on the shirt and pants.  DJ assumed Payne had just ironed his white button down shirt.  The iron was only about three feet away and to the left of them.  To the right was the closet.

Once, DJ had to hide in this same closet when Payne’s chapter brothers surprised him one night to talk chapter business.  He overheard them make fun of the lube they found in his bedroom.  One brother playfully announced, “I always knew you were gay.”  But Payne quickly covered and said, “You know I like porn bruh.  Why you being dumb?”

That exchange, as scary as it was because he would never want to be found in a man’s house hiding from another man, told him Payne was quick on his feet and was much too advanced with coming up with lies to cover things up.  But to DJ, this lie was a white lie.  Payne was safeguarding his reputation and his own manhood.  This was something both of them understood.  But it was something both of them hated.

DJ recalled how it wasn’t even a discussion about whether or not he should hide in the closet and how ironic that thought was.  “Times have changed,” he thought.  He wondered why he felt the need to hide then remembered he hadn’t told his mom yet.  Neither had Payne.  It was something else they had in common, that and the fact that neither really had a father.  Both their fathers were dead and neither grew up with the presence of a father.

“This is all the history pledges learn throughout the process.  I’m making a copy for you.  Learn it by the end of the night.  Keep it here because I’m taking it from you tonight.  The key to my apartment is on the table.  My chapter has a service project today and the guys on the current line are crossing tonight.  I’ll probably be back pretty late because we also have a chapter meeting to follow.  We will likely decide whether we have a line next semester tonight after they cross.  At least that’s what I’m pushing for.  Will I see you tonight,” asked Payne?

As Payne talked, DJ couldn’t help but wonder how their lives would have been different if their fathers were alive and present.  Would they continue to hide this feeling or would they suppress it? DJ knew some of his cousins with fathers in the house had homosexual feelings but were living a life away from that.  He wondered if living with a father made you suppress your true feelings, thereby making you weaker.  Or, if living with a mother made you more open and conversely stronger.  It was a dichotomy that DJ would spend some time in the recesses of his mind pondering for some time.

“Of course.  But why are you giving me this information, Payne?”

“Because the more you mess up on line the longer your process.  The longer your nights.  I don’t have time for that.  I need to see you every night and at a reasonable time, understand?”

DJ was caught off guard.  Payne thought DJ was reacting because of how forceful his tone was.  That was not a tactic that worked well for Payne in the past.  Instead, DJ was shocked Payne was sharing information about the pledge process.  Part of the allure of Epsilon was the mystery.  Payne was demystifying a process that DJ felt he deserved.  And yet, DJ wasn’t in a position to complain.  DJ responded by saying, “I’ll start studying this as soon as I finish typing this speech for the coronation of Miss Dawn today.”

“Why do you have to give a speech for that?”

“Because Ivory is her escort, I have to fill in.  And even if he does still give a speech it was my job to write it.  It’s part of the tradition Vice Presidents have held over the years during Homecoming week.”

“Oh okay.  But that’s not what I meant.  I don’t understand why you all put so much effort into your Miss Dawn.  Also, will everyone in Student Government be there?”

“I don’t know about everyone because they didn’t really communicate the information to Senators.  You know Ivory is still running from them and their questions.  He’s doing whatever he can to stay away from them.  And about Miss Dawn, to me it’s really about how everything on campus glorifies men, from sports to even things like SGA.  It’s a male dominated culture.  But this is one area that is dominated by women and we glorify the strength, beauty, creativity and intelligence of the women we have at Dawn.”

As DJ filled Payne in on things regarding Homecoming and Miss Dawn, he remembered his need to talk to Payne about Angela. He could tell his point about Miss Dawn had been made so he decided not to continue with that discussion.

“Which reminds me, what’s the deal between you and Angela,” asked DJ?

“What do you mean,” quipped Payne?

“I’m saying, the two of you are spending too much time together.  In the SGA office, all Angela does is talk about you and what you have said and how fine and sexy you are.  She keeps asking me what I think about you and the possibility of you two.  Now y’all are talking about fraternity business.  I don’t know much about your organization but I know that doesn’t make much sense unless there is a lot of trust involved.  So what’s the deal?  I tried not to overreact but after last night I think I deserve to know the truth.”

Payne was caught off guard.  Payne was wondering why this issue was coming up now.  He also wondered why it mattered.  Payne didn’t think of DJ as his boyfriend but maybe as someone he was dating.  So he understood where DJ was coming from.  It was his natural inclination to lie in this moment but he knew DJ could sense when he lied.  Instead, Payne decided to tell enough of the truth without pissing DJ off.

“Well, I don’t see how this is any of your business but Angela and I do talk.  We talk everyday.  We actually talk more than you and I do.  Sometimes we talk while you are here.”

“Do you realize she thinks you two are dating because you talk so much?”

“No she doesn’t.”

“Payne, yes she does.  She has even described your apartment to me.”  DJ decided to throw all his cards on the table.  He didn’t have time for Angela and he already decided he wanted Payne.  DJ had to get rid of her.  But he also couldn’t afford to make a big deal out of the situation right now.

Payne was shocked at how pointed DJ’s accusations were.  DJ’s style was basically to keep asking questions until Payne messed up.  This time, DJ was volunteering information.  He was on the offense and Payne knew he couldn’t withstand an assault from DJ.

“We talk.  Do I think she likes me?  Yes, I do.  Do we talk about things or even you? Yes. Has she been here with her suitemates because they were doing a book report and needed to use Wesley’s library? Yes.  You know our library is better than Dawn’s.  It’s clear to me she believes we are something but I don’t indulge her.  She’s like a little sister to me.”

“I really don’t care what happened in the past.  I know you are still attracted to women but I can’t be in competition with anyone.  I also know you aren’t telling me everything.  And if I’m going to be in competition with someone it can’t be someone I’ve known since my freshman year.  That ain't cool bruh.  She’s thinking about running for SGA president and it’s not really something I want but it’s an option for me.”

Payne broke out with his patented chesire cat smile. Instinctively, DJ knew lies were about to spew out of his mouth.  DJ braced himself for what was to follow.

“I promise you, DJ, there is nothing between us.”

“Payne, let me put it to you like this.  I know too much.  I know more about you than she ever could.  Don’t make a fool out of me or I will react.  That’s not a threat.  That’s just a promise.  So keep talking to her all you want.  But if I find proof there is more to it than what you’re saying than just prepare yourself for what will follow.”

Payne’s smile turned into a look of dismay.  He couldn’t believe DJ had flipped like that.  But there was something in the warning that Payne found alluring.  He loved it.  Payne immediately stood up and lightly spun around on the right side of DJ’s body and simultaneously grabbed his arms to turn him a little so they were standing face to face.

DJ was still naked and afraid of being burned by the iron so his left leg braced for any weight Payne might apply.  But Payne lost his balance a little as he spun and he fell backwards pulling DJ with him.  Neither fell on the floor but onto the packed closet of clothes.  After they got up, DJ noticed some of his precum got onto Payne’s pant suit but DJ liked the idea of it there so he didn’t tell Payne.  They both laughed about the fall and kissed each other.

Payne was tempted to get a quick session in but knew it was too soon to ask.  Instead they used the rest of their time talking and getting to know about each other’s family for a while.

As they talked, Payne finished his breakfast, made a few calls and finished dressing for the day’s activities.

Once Payne left, DJ worked on his speech.  All that was left was the finishing touches.  DJ had a way with words so once things started to flow they really did fly.  That was a good thing because the entire time he worked his mind was on the information he was assigned to learn by Payne by the end of the night.

Once he finished with his speech he practiced it a few times.  He typically practiced by reading to himself several times to make certain things made sense.  Then he practiced it out loud to ensure it had a certain rhythm and matched the vibrato of his voice.  While he practiced he got a text from Toni that read: “It’s been a whole month and the Senate hasn’t done anything yet.  Wtf!”

This aggravated DJ because he warned Toni this would not be easy.  Plus, with Homecoming upon them, DJ made a decision not to pursue the issue because the campus needed to concentrate on that and no one would really deal with impeachment under such a circumstance.  Plus, he counted all the senators’ votes.  He knew he was one vote short.

“Toni, I told you this wasn’t going to be easy.  The Senate doesn’t have the votes.”

“Oh I know those weak ass senators aren’t going to impeach him.  I just wanna lay it all out and see him squirm.”

“Okay.  If you want to lay it all out then you can get that.  But realize he has never attended any Senate meeting.  But I suggest you contact the campus newspaper. That’s the only way all of the story can get out.”

“Oh I’m already talking to the Editor in Chief of the Spectrum.  She is all over it.”

“Toni!  Wtf have you done?  Have you implicated me in this at all?”

“No!  She doesn’t even care about SGA.  No one thinks yall are gonna do anything.”

“If only you knew why.”

“Why?”

DJ knew he fucked up then.  He shouldn’t have admitted that over text.  And yet Toni asked him a question so he felt obligated to answer her.

“The Senators who will block it are all trying to submit to become members of Epsilon and EZE.  There are three who want to pledge Epsilon and two who want to pledge EZE sorority.  And to be honest, there is another who I know wants to be an EZE but I think she’s pushing me not to advance the issue so she won’t have to vote on it.  If it comes to a vote, however, I know she will vote to impeach him.”

“DJ, you should have called me about all of this.  It’s so confusing.”  Two seconds later, DJ received a call from Toni.

Toni began by saying, “Hello.”

“Hello, Toni.”  DJ didn’t have time.  He had to finish practicing his speech, shower, dress, drive back to Dawn and still had to find time to study before leaving Payne’s apartment.

“It’s not the kind of thing most people can understand.  And what’s so bad is these are the people who are the leaders within the Senate.  My own friends Demarco and John, the damn Pro-Tempore of the Senate, the lead senator, would be my biggest competition.  He knows as much about parliamentary procedures as I do.  That’s another reason why I wasn’t in a rush to have a meeting about this.  I had to be ready for any trick he might throw at senators.  As the presiding officer, I can’t make any motions.  Senators have to be prepared to match him.  They aren’t ready.  They would fail before they even started.”

“That ain’t right DJ.  I mean who the fuck do they think they are?  Why should their wants get in the way of what’s right?  I mean this man really fucked me.  You know.  He fucked me DJ.  He fucked me good. And now all yall Epsilon wanna be’s are gonna fuck me too.”

“You should ask that question during the meeting next week.  Please don’t talk about him fucking you though.  Please.  And I’m here helping you.  I’m not working against you.  We both want to see Ivory out of office.  What I worry is that our reasons for wanting him gone are not the same.”

“This meeting is called to order,” proclaimed DJ.  DJ did a lot of work in preparation for tonight’s Senate meeting.  He spoke with all the senators recounting votes and making calls to remind them of the meeting.

DJ knew he couldn’t match John Ross, the Senate Pro-Tempore’s, skills at parliamentary procedures if DJ chaired the meeting.  However, Robert’s Rules or Order encourages the presiding officer to help anyone who needs the help.  That was his only recourse and it wasn’t going to be easy.

He didn’t trust Senators to keep quiet about his plans to help them so from what he sees in the attendance he knew that tactic was a good one on his part because there were too many spectators present.  However, he had to hope senators caught on to his plan.  But he didn’t have much hope in that.

The meeting room was a mixture of reds and yellow, the school’s colors.  All chairs were red with a broad back on each.  There were twenty-one chairs on the left-hand side for senators and about fifteen chairs for other students, all red.  The carpet was also a mixture of reds and yellows.  At the front of the room was a large round table where DJ and Danielle always sat.

On the wood stained and glossed table was an assortment of reports for senators and other students to grab upon their entrance.  Behind the table and above DJ’s head was the yellow seal for Dawn.  The Union had just reopened following remodeling so everything was brightly colored, new and carried a clean smell even from the plush carpet.

Senators, gossipers and reporters all sat in their designated seats.  It was like a funeral processional.  It was quiet and orderly.  Everyone could feel the energy in the room and it wasn’t excitement.  Everyone knew some sort of battle was about to occur but most people did not know who from. DJ felt a heavy burden because he was one of only a few people who knew what was really happening tonight.

Toni was in attendance and so were reporters from the campus paper, the Spectrum.  The Senate was full of all its twenty members. In order to impeach Ivory, one member of the five had to jump ship.  DJ was hopeful that the weakest link would have been Demarco, one of his closest friends.  Ivory’s chief of staff, Chris, was present but of course Ivory was not to be found.

Chelsea, DJ’s best friend and legislative aid to the Senate was present.  By practice, she never had to attend but she knew this meeting was going to be poppin.  But DJ also wondered if Chelsea or even Chris was present because it afforded them the ability to be in public and no one question it.  Danielle, one of DJ and Chelsea’s friends and Clerk of the Senate, attended all meetings. Somehow, Toni’s “ambush” got out.  The element of surprise was lost.  At this point everything he was trying to do might be lost.  But he was going to fight as much as the senators allowed him to.  Once DJ dedicated himself to something he remained committed.

DJ no longer had to worry about whether the Epsilons from Dawn would take him for trying to bring their frat brother down publicly.  He empathized with the position his friends found themselves facing.  If he weren’t having sex with the president of the Epsilons at Wesley he most likely would not have put himself in the position he knew he was about to put himself in, but he was grateful for the opportunity it afforded him.  This was the right course of action, no matter the consequences.  Ivory should not have purchased personal clothes with student funds without permission from the senate.

DJ’s greatest concern at the moment was conducting a meeting he knew was going to be unruly.  He knew he would have to do battle with John.  DJ and John were roommates the year before and were extremely close.  At one point, DJ considered both John and Chelsea to be his two best friends.  Both John and DJ served as senators in SGA the year before as well.  John enjoyed arguing but both relished the idea of outsmarting the other.  To some extent, both had sufficiently met their match.

DJ knew John had an idea of his true sexuality and for some reason never told anyone.  DJ appreciated that fact so their bond grew almost to a point where they were inseparable last year.  DJ felt a bit of attraction for John but did a very good job of pushing that aside for the sake of their friendship.  His feelings for John were strong enough that he never wanted to hurt him purposely.

Obviously, DJ suspected John was gay too.  One night last year, DJ happened to see John leaving Harry’s room.  John was talking to Harry like they were familiar and more than that they were talking about going out.  Harry was keeping both of their secrets.

Of course, the thought of Harry - DJ’s savior the evening Tommy followed him into the shower room - brought back the story Payne told DJ about his rape.  DJ was momentarily distracted by all these thoughts.

DJ was so distracted he almost missed John’s quick maneuver to reject the agenda as printed.  Once DJ realized what John was up to he couldn’t hide his anger.  In effect, John was attempting to end or null the meeting before it even started.  But DJ was quick.

DJ addressed John by his title and not as Senator Ross, as had been his practice all year.  He was attempting to remind John of his higher obligations. Also, it was another signal to John that what was happening was not personal, all business.  Other members of Student Government noticed the change but only a few senators understood the tactic but they would not help DJ tonight.

“Pro-Tempore Ross, your motion was never recognized by the chair.”

John seemed hurt by that.  John had always assumed DJ would have followed suit.  For a moment, John thought DJ didn’t understand what he was trying to do.  It wasn’t until DJ added, “The chair will now entertain a motion to accept the agenda as printed,” that John knew they were on opposing sides.

At this point, all senators knew something was wrong but no one but DJ and John understood the implication of this volley of parliamentary procedures.  The entire school year, DJ relied upon John to help move all legislation because of his knowledge of parliamentary procedures. It was something senators had grown accustomed with.

DJ’s actions angered John and that hurt DJ immeasurably.  DJ knew he was shattering his relationship with John but he wanted to do what was right.  This time, John rose his hand and waited to be acknowledged.  Because of his relationship with John and the questioning eyes of everyone in attendance, DJ felt obliged to recognize him knowing it might cause a problem for him.  John stood and immediately announced, “Division of the House.”

DJ’s eyes flared!  He couldn’t believe what John was doing.  He had every right to do it but it was also in that moment that DJ realized John’s tactic was simply to delay the issue.  But everyone in the room saw DJ’s reaction.

DJ had built up a reputation with senators.  They trusted him.  They never knew where DJ stood with respect to the issue of impeaching Ivory but in that moment they all knew where the fault lines were.  DJ could sense their hopes were automatically transferred onto him.  For the first time that evening, DJ feared the outcome.  He did not want to disappoint anyone and yet he knew the outcome of this meeting weeks ago.

DJ composed himself and said the following, “Senators, a division of the house is when a member, Pro-Tempore Ross, basically says he believes the chair, me, has used his authority against the best wishes of the majority of this body, you, the Senate.  If you stand with Pro-Tempore Ross you are saying you agree that I have misused my authority as President of the Senate.  In effect, you are saying you do not respect me in the night’s meeting.”

Senators were puzzled now.  While they understood DJ was trying to help them they weren’t altogether impressed with how DJ handled the situation.  And yet they had to decide how to proceed.

“So, please stand if you feel I have misused my authority,” commanded DJ.  Inside himself, DJ did not trust Senators.  He truly felt this to be the end of his fight - before it even started.

Three senators stood.  DJ looked relieved.  Senators also looked relieved because they were confused about what to do.  Seeing his relieved look brought them comfort.  “Madames Clerk and Secretary, please let the record show that the motion has failed.”

DJ decided to call his bluff, go on the offensive and do exactly what John didn’t want to happen.  He called a male senator up to his chair who had always let his intentions known about the matter.  He whispered and asked him to “suspend the rules to allow Toni Howard to address the Student Senate.”  The senator didn’t know who she was or her relevance.  DJ begged him to simply trust him.  From that very spot, the senator asked for DJ’s attention and moved to suspend the rules to allow Toni to speak.  A chorus of senators seconded the motion.

It was then that a reporter from the campus newspaper, the Spectrum, stood and remarked, “All these maneuverings are entertaining but when does the Senate impeach Ivory?  We have a deadline.”

This irritated all senators.  They openly mused whether they should have reporters removed.  DJ reminded them they would then violate the reporters’ 1st Amendment rights.  This realization tamed the Senate.  Again, this open defiance and full agreement about something from all senators emboldened DJ.

DJ introduced Toni as the immediate past Loan Director for SGA. He explained how it was she who handed out the information detailing SGA purchases by Ivory for clothes.  How she helped purchase the clothes.  DJ even admitted how a student brought information to him over the summer and how he confronted Ivory and their advisor only to be lied to.

By doing this, DJ legitimized her presence and sealed his fate with the Epsilons at Dawn.  Senators agreed with DJ to suspend the rules to allow her to speak.  At this point, John and all the other hopefuls - like Demarco, wishing to become members of Epsilon and EZE - were visibly and audibly annoyed.  All were annoyed except Demarco.

Demarco was there the night DJ first learned about Ivory’s escapades with Toni.  In fact, it was just this summer when DJ told all his friends about what the student said about the clothes.  DJ told Demarco that he planned to confront Ivory about this.  Demarco understood finally why Toni was standing before them.

DJ made an audible sigh of relief.  He knew now that Demarco made the connections.  But Demarco is a logical thinker.  Understanding the background is one thing but putting everything together is another issue.  At the very least, DJ knew he had not lost his friend with what was about to happen.

Before DJ allowed Toni to speak, he stood from his seat, which was not something DJ normally did.  DJ did this to bring more attention to what he would say next.  DJ cautioned her, “Be careful not to make this a circus or you will lose what you seek to have happen.  Remember, as senators they can only vote on matters that are impeachable.  Present evidence such as what you have in your hands.”  DJ was referencing the copies of the receipts from clothes purchased and was also leading Toni, helping Toni with her arguments.

DJ hoped she would have been classy.  But, knowing her as he did he knew that wouldn’t happen.  He could only hope for the best.  He needed Toni to present the flyers.  He needed her to ask Chris if that was Ivory’s signature on the copies in her hands.  He needed her to connect the dots that he couldn’t because he was stuck in that chair.  Again, he knew he was hoping for a lot.

“My name is Toni Howard.  As Vice President DJ Holmes told you, I was the Loan Director until Ivory fired me after we had sex.  He was my boyfriend’s best friend.  We had sex a lot.  I went down on him in the SGA office and everything.  You should impeach him for that.”  This was Toni’s opening statement.

DJ was amazed.  The entire room was amazed.  The reporters from the Spectrum immediately walked out.  She was oblivious to her actions.  By the time she stopped talking at least three senators left.  While she continued to embarrass herself, DJ would run outside to beg senators to stay until the end.  One senator was in tears.

“You know, DJ, please don’t tell anyone.  But Ivory did something similar to me as well.  I’m not foolish enough to make a spectacle out of it but as soon as she started talking like that after you warned her I knew all was lost.  You did too.  Everyone did.  Why did you bring her up? Why,” asked the female senator?

“Because there were not enough votes.  Senators continued to ask me why we hadn’t done anything.  I kept telling all of you that you had to bring something up in black and white.  None of you did that.  None.  I don’t have the power you have to speak up during meetings or to bring legislation.  This was the only trick I had to spur you all into action.  I just didn’t know she would be so reckless.”

“Why didn’t you coach someone?”

“Come on.  Who could I coach that could withstand John?  But what most people don’t know is there were never enough votes to impeach Ivory.  Five senators would never have voted to impeach him.”

“Yeah.  I don’t know why they’re doing that.  I’m in EZE and we don’t even like Ivory like that.  Clearly you don’t want to be an Epsilon so I can say that to you now.  No one from either chapter is supporting Ivory as SGA President.  His chapter is still cool with him but not as SGA President.”

DJ was crushed.  He stuck his neck out for a cause he knew he would lose and now all he has done is angered the dean of the next line, Ivory.  There is no way he could pledge at Dawn now.  Even if they chose him, Ivory would make it a living hell for DJ.
