OTP: Ch 1. Pt 4.

"You know as soon as the Young & the Restless ends we always leave to go to Griffith, so don't be holding us up.  I don't like standing in those long lines.  I ain't playing wit yo ass.  If you ain't here before then we leaving you," barked Aaron.

Aaron had a deep southern accent that is more noticeable and thicker than anyone's else's from Prairie Heights, Florida, which is about 50 miles west of Tallahassee, Florida, where Dawn University is located.  In many ways, Aaron was the leader of this motley crew of friends.  His leadership had more to do with how loud and vocal he was mixed with the reality that no one else had the desire to argue with him.

Aaron had a quick tongue but was often wrong.  When he was wrong, most members of the group simply gave each other a quick glance to determine their assessment.  If you got eyes rolled back from the girls or a quick shrug from the guys you knew they agreed with you.  If he was right you might have one or two of the crew to amen him but if he went too far, as he was apt to do, then people walked away.  Walking away was a signal to him that no one was interested in his arguments.

The rest of the fellas spent more time with Aaron and so they were immune to Aaron's rants.  But this time, Aaron was on the phone with Chelsea and today she wasn't having it.  The fellas could clearly hear Chelsea's response.

"Aaron, I don't know who the hell you think you talking to like that.  I asked your simple ass one simple ass question.  You know we always take a nap at this time.  But since you wanna act like one of the girls and go off on me, we just gonna leave now and eat without you."

At this point, the fellas were already prepared.  They already had their Tupperware packed into their book sacks and were already making plans to get certain foods based on the sizes of those bowls.

When they heard the exchange between Aaron and Chelsea, that was like catnip for them.  Almost like they had planned it or were talking telepathically, they each stood up to leave.  This act shocked Aaron.  He forgot that though the group watched the Young & the Restless, they didn't really like watching soap operas.

DJ was the first to make it to door.  DJ entertained Aaron less than the rest of the group but had learned long ago to simply react, move or make decisions independent of the fellas.  In fact, he spent most of this time looking through his phone sitting on one of the beds in Aaron and Hakeem's dorm room.

DJ on cell phone waiting

Also, DJ rarely took food from the caf.  Marcus was across the hall and it had long been understood that before they left they had to wake him up at least five to ten minutes before leaving.  That was about the right amount of time needed to meet the girls.  As DJ walked across the hall to wake Marcus, it was then that Owen, Demarco and Hakeem began to assemble everything to prepare for the trek to the cafeteria.

Seeing the fellas move told Aaron everything he needed to know.  The fellas were in no mood for him today.  This usually left him in a bad mood.  Unlike the girls, the fellas just ignored his behavior.  For some reason, the girls seemed to place more weight onto his mood than anyone's else's.

After they all finally left their dormitories the fellas met up with the girls at the customary spot, which caught the girls off guard because it was an earlier time than normal.

The weather was warm with a moderate wind blowing.  It was sunny outside and most everyone was swatting mosquitoes. By now, everyone had a light glistening of sweat on their faces that gave everyone a glow under the bright sun.  The air was sweet from the local factories whose pollution Dawn students regularly smelled during warm days when the winds blew.

Everyone exchanged their customary hellos then the clowning began.

"Demarco, you look so sexy today!  What did you do today; can I touch all this sexiness" asked Chelsea?  Chelsea was one of the funny girls of the group.  Her kind of fun was a mixture of what she was saying mixed with her facial expressions.  Her wit was quick and only the quickest of the group was able to catch it.  As always, Demarco was caught off guard and was flustered at the same time; he was struggling to get the words out.

Demarco flustered by Chelsea
"What you mean, Chelsea?"

"Can I rub on your chest and feel your muscles?"  Without permission, Chelsea did just that.  Demarco gave a face of irritation mixed with pleasure, which made the group laugh....well everyone except Aaron.

Yvette was the mother of the group.  She was always concerned with everyone's well being.  She always wanted everyone to feel comfortable.  She noticed Aaron did not laugh.  "Aroni, what's wrong?" she asked.  Aroni was the nickname she gave Aaron and was a nickname used only by Yvette when she addressed him.

Aaron didn't respond to her question other than to simply acknowledge she was speaking; he looked up with his eyebrows pressed together, which actually gave him a devilish look.  The look communicated enough to Yvette to ask Hakeem what was wrong with Aaron.

Hakeem was Aaron's roommate.  All three - Aaron, Hakeem and Yvette - were from the same hometown along with DJ.

Hakeem answered Yvette by saying, "I really don't know."  His tone gave a sense of irritation.  Usually, when Hakeem was irritated everyone in the group respected that and stood out of his way.  It wasn't that Hakeem was a bully or anything close to that.  It was simply that Hakeem was the smoothest of the group and probably the most gentle too.

So, Yvette asked DJ what was wrong with Aaron and Hakeem.  DJ responded by saying, "Oh, so no one told you.  Well, before coming over, Aaron and Chelsea exchanged words."

"Okay. But that doesn't explain Hakeem."

"That I don't know.  I was surprised to hear how he responded to you too."

And out of no where Chelsea asks Aaron, "What's wrong with you, Aaron? Everyone else is speaking to everyone else but you."

At that moment, the entire crew put their eyes onto Aaron expecting him to blew up.  Instead, Aaron responded by saying, "I'm mad because you didn't run your hands on my chest and tell me I'm sexy like Demarco.  What's that about?"

The whole crew laughed because unlike Demarco who had a slim build, 6 feet 3 inch frame and tight muscles on most parts of his body, Aaron was a lanky build standing at 6 feet 1 inch and no muscles in sight.  Demarco was clean shaven and always had a decent cut on his head.  He wore glasses but somehow they fit him.  Aaron, on the other hand, didn't put much stock into what he wore or what he looked like.

Because they left so early there wasn't much of a line at the cafeteria.  Once they all sat down, the group was joined by Marcus and later by Rihanni, Danielle and B'onca.

Of course, Rihanni could not make an entrance without the group noticing her.  "OMG, I swear they act like those cows don't piss milk.  I went up there and told that woman the milk machine was out of milk and she gives me an attitude.  It's not even 5 o'clock and they ran outta milk.  They know we coming.  They need to take their asses out there and squeeze those cow titties cuz I want my milk dammit."

"Girl, you can have mine.  I'm not going to drink it."

"Bet.  Thank you, Chelsea."

Generally, when the group eats together certain people sit next to each other. DJ normally sits next to Chelsea who would normally sit near B'onca. Aaron would sit  next to either Rihanni or Hakeem. But Rihanni always sat next to Danielle. Everyone else pretty much sat around those groups and left open seats if someone was running late. It was never something that was decided or ever mentioned; these norms simply developed over the three years they had spent together at Dawn.
As the group begins to settle in to their seats and quietly eat, Yvette's roommate, Tammy, walks by and catches the eye of both Yvette and DJ.  Tammy is a Senior class senator.  Her entrance to the table turned the group's attention to the current issues of Student Government.

Most of the members of the group were in Student Government but were serving in different capacities.  Aaron was Men's Federation president and Hakeem was his vice president.  They both represented all men on campus.  Chelsea was the vice president of AWS (Association of Women Students) and also serves as the legislative aid for the Student Senate.  Danielle was the clerk of the Senate. Demarco was a Junior Class senator and Owen and Marcus both had positions in Men's Federation.  B'onca and Rihanni were the only ones who did not serve in SGA.  However, because they were so close knit a group they always listened to what was happening.

This time, however, what was happening in SGA captured the attention of the entire student body.  But the most important people at the table were Demarco and Tammy because they had a vote in the Senate.  Most of the members of the group were too polite to ask what they would do and DJ would never ask either of them in public because he was still counting votes but this time, breaking from her normal gentile demeanor, Danielle asked Tammy what her thoughts were.

"Well, of course, I need to see the evidence," said Tammy.

This almost enraged Rihanni but she covered it up with a funny tone and replied by saying, "Evidence?! Evidence?! He bought over $100 in sexy clothes to have sex with half of those lil freshmen girls!"

"Well, do we even know that's his signature," asked Tammy?  Tammy was referencing the receipts Toni sent to DJ over fax that was later reported in the Campus Spectrum.

"Look at the approved budget we gave to you and all the approved bills we've sent to him that he's signed.  The signature matches.  His own Chief of Staff admitted it was his signature," replied DJ.

"And what can the Senate do?  People are saying we should impeach him but is this something worth impeaching someone for," asked Tammy?

"The Constitution does not specify reasons why a person could be impeached. My guess is it should be left to the Senate to decide whether that is an appropriate reaction to what is happening.  The Bylaws you all passed only gives direction on how that process would move along," replied DJ.

In that moment, DJ received a text message from Payne.  He opened the message which read, "Tonight??"

"I just don't understand what the hold up is?  No one on this campus wants him to be the president.  If he is no longer the president, who would take his place," asked Rihanni?

DJ responded to the text by saying, "I don't have any money to get there and back. Sorry."

Aaron chimed in by saying, "DJ takes his place."

"DJ? Why DJ," asked Rihanni?

Everyone at the table responded by saying, in unison, "He's the vice president."

DJ received another text from Payne that read, "I can give you $5."

"Oh, is that why you are always trying to get us to do stuff in SGA? You shoulda told me that then I would have helped more.  Especially if I could get a room and tickets to the Pacific Classic," said Rihanni, sarcastically.

That's when DJ realized Demarco hadn't commented.  He could tell that Tammy just needed the facts that everyone else pretty much already knew.  Demarco, however, was someone who hated to make controversial decisions.  Also, he was trying to become an Epsilon and was real cool with most of the members.

Most of the members of Epsilon were in the Honors College, as was Demarco.  Additionally, most of the members who lived on campus lived in Lasko Hall dormitory with Demarco.  Because of his grades and activity on campus, he was pretty much riding waves into the chapter.

DJ could sense that Demarco felt uncomfortable with the discussion.  DJ wanted to steer the conversation away from Demarco because the last thing he needed was to have Demarco forced to have to make a decision, which might not be something DJ could walk back afterwards if he made the decision in anger.

If anyone tried too hard DJ knew Demarco would certainly vote against impeachment.  DJ needed his vote.

As DJ considered these facts, he replied to Payne saying, "Cool. What are we going to be doing? I've already started eating dinner."

As the group continued to talk over each other, DJ was scanning the room and listening to his friends.  He wondered whether everyone else was having similar conversations.  That's when he realized people had picked up the Campus Spectrum and were having intense conversations about the situation.  They looked upset.

"Look at everyone," exclaimed DJ.  On cue, everyone at the table started to look around the cafeteria and everyone noted how people were angrily holding the paper that had a copy of the receipts.  The article also independently verified with the store that the clothes were paid for with a purchase order from Dawn University.

The Campus Spectrum further discovered that only Student Government had the right to purchase clothes in connection with Miss Dawn and her court.  Ivory was Miss Dawn's escort and as tradition when a male is SGA president then that male receives a $1,000 clothing stipend to serve as the escort for Miss Dawn.

This year was the first year that clothes for the entire court was added to the budget.  However, the amount given to the other members of the court did not exceed the budgeted amount.  The prevailing thought is that Ivory used the remainder of the money on himself instead of the court.

DJ was also a member of the court because the Junior Class president was a female and so was the vice president of the class.  Because of his past and present roles, he's able to intelligently guide everyone through this conversation.

"I just don't want this to end up like last year when we impeached Miss Dawn," said Tammy.  This was Tammy's third year on the Senate.  DJ was a senator last year and was there when the Senate impeached Miss Dawn.  He knew exactly what she meant and he wanted to avoid that debacle at all costs, which was partly why he refused to move too fast on this issue.  He wanted as many facts as possible to hang Ivory with.

DJ received another text, "We can just chill.  I want to get to know you, remember?"

"Yeah, right.  You trying to fuck again," responded DJ.

"Well, to be honest, I don't care about all of that.  I just know that lil short fucka aint giving me no dick so if I were on the Senate I'd vote to impeach his ass.  Now if we was fuckin then I might have to vote to keep him," said Danielle.

Everyone gave her a shocked look.  Everyone knew Danielle was a little freaky but she never really said anything about it in such a manner.

As everyone laughed, DJ got another text from Payne saying, "No!  For real.  Perfect gentleman."

"Ok.  What time," asked DJ in response to Payne's text.

"Now."

Aaron was amused by the conversation but he was a bottom line type of person.  He truly wanted to know whether Tammy and Demarco would vote to impeach Ivory. "So, no disrespect DJ but Tammy and Demarco, what yall gonna do?"

Tammy answered by saying, "Well, right now I can't tell you what I'm going to do but based on everything I'm hearing I would vote to impeach him today.  I won't lie, part of my decision would be based on you, DJ."

"Me?"

"Yeah. Do you want the position?"

This was the first time DJ had ever truly considered that.  Logically, he knew he was next in line but he never truly thought impeachment was going to happen. He just wanted to humble Ivory. Tammy, introducing this as a concept, made it a reality because there were only seven more senators he needed to talk to to determine whether they were ready to vote to impeach.

DJ wasn't known for being a liar, however, after now recently living in this lifestyle, he learned to live in the nuance.  Being a Senator and later VP for SGA made that transition easier for him.

DJ responded by saying, "I'm always ready." He grinned and all the fellas laughed.

But Tammy judged him and instead cut through by proposing this scenario, "I know you won't be voting on this issue but if this only took a majority vote and the Senate was split 50/50, how would you vote?"

Without thinking, DJ plainly replied, "He would have been impeached last week."

Apparently, most of his friends were surprised by that assertion.

Then, as if a football game had just been won, everyone cracked into smiles.

Their response baffled DJ.  He wondered how that answer changed everyone's attitude.  He normally would have asked the follow up questions but he had somewhere to go.

"Yall, I forgot I have something due tomorrow.  I need to research for it.  I need to go."  He learned not to give too many specifics and not to commit to meeting up with them later.  They could sometimes be a possessive group.

As DJ walked away, he sent Payne a text that read, "I'm leaving the cafeteria now.  I should be there in about 30 minutes."

Payne responded by saying, "I have to go to work real quick, but I'll leave the door unlocked.  I should be back in about an hour."

"Cool," replied DJ.  He wondered why Payne trusted him enough to leave him in his home for so long without him.  He pushed the thought that perhaps this was something real.  He fully expected to have sex that night.

DJ now had an extra 30 minutes so this is an opportunity for him to quickly shower before he made his way to Payne's apartment.  But unlike in the past, he couldn't plan his actions in advance.

As he made his way back to his room, he met his roommate sitting at his desk making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.  This was his roommates, Eugene, daily snack.  He hadn't yet gone to dinner.

"Wassup, Eugene!"

"Chillin DJ.  Just about to grub on this food."

In the room with Eugene was this short dude with big wavy hair.  From the conversation, he could tell the guy was an engineering major that seemed to be trying too hard to be Eugene's friend.  He also looked a bit older than most college students.  The short dude was darker than DJ and very talkative.

The friendship between these two baffled DJ.  Eugene has always been a quiet guy.  He always had friends but his friends were always smart and they were never needy or talkative.  This new friend seemed to be the exact opposite.

As DJ undresses, Eugene and his friend remain in the room.  Though DJ had a slender frame he inherited his mother's curves.  He had no stomach with a larger than normal size ass for a man his age.  He wore a size 28 just to fit his ass.  In general, he could wear a size 25 but because his ass was so firm and "obvious" he had to get a larger size jean to wear.

DJ had never felt comfortable dressing or undressing in the presence of other men.  He had long since learned that most men will look at another man's body if given the chance.

Men would never admit to it but men do it.  Because he could never tell what a man's intentions were he tried to avoid the scenario altogether.  Today, though, he didn't have time, so his prudish ways had to take a backseat.

As he carefully pulled his legs out of his jeans, he could feel the stocky dude with big wavy hair staring at him from Eugene's bed.  Behind the guy were the room's windows and the blinds were all open so the sun was behind Eugene's friend but it caught him at an angle so his eyes were clear to see.  Eugene sat opposite DJ's closet so he doubted Eugene even knew he was undressing.

This had been DJ's first time meeting this guy so he had kept the conversation light.  DJ knows that when he first meets someone it is rare that they automatically think he is gay.  So, as he continued to undress, the guy continues to watch him.

Once DJ has taken everything else off, he knows Eugene's friend can see him in his underwear.  The underwear was loose at the waist but tight around the thickest part of his ass.  DJ would have felt more at ease with the guy seeing his dick than his ass but to turn around was not an option so he moved as fast as he could.

DJ placed his towel over his waist and folded it tight then pulled his underwear off.

The guy and his roommate were talking about how a professor was making them do unnecessary work. DJ tried not to listen but he couldn't help it.

DJ refused to turn around but could still feel this dude watching him.  He slipped on his slippers, grabbed his soap, shampoo and towel then left the room as the two of them continued to talk.

The shower room and restrooms were adjacent rooms.  The restroom was next to his dorm room and that led to the shower room, so as DJ walked into the restroom he decided to take a quick piss before jumping in the shower.  As he was pulling his dick out through the fold of the towel in walks his roommate's friend.

DJ was a creature of habit and so he always went to the fourth stall from the door.  Before heading to the stall he places his soap, shampoo and towel on the sink nearest the door leading to the shower room.

The restroom had five stalls.  As Eugene's friend walks into the restroom, DJ begins to let loose his stream so he can't move.  He opts to keep his right hand holding his dick and the left one ready to flush.

Eugene's friend seems surprised to find DJ at the stall but walks to the third stall, next to DJ.  At this point, DJ is alarmed and doesn't know what this guy is all about.

He makes movements like he is unzipping his shorts.  As the stocky guy begins to take a leak, he turns and faces DJ. DJ is wondering whether this dude is about to bash his head in or ask to join him in the shower.  For some reason, DJ can smell him; he had a hint of worn cologne but soon after he began to drain himself DJ picked up the scent of a man who had been out all day.

Without returning the guy's glance, when DJ is done, he carefully shakes several times, moves his dick and the towel back into place with his right hand, and flushes with the left. At this point, he stops paying attention to the guy and turns toward the shower room at the other end of the restroom.  He collects his things from the sink to his left and walks into the shower room.  He can tell the shower room was recently cleaned because he can pick up the scent of bleach.

As he makes his way to the single stalled shower the door he just walked through swings open and the stocky guy walks through following him instead of leaving through the restroom door.

At this point, DJ knows something is about to go down, he just doesn't know what that something is.  DJ's face felt like it was telling a story - one filled with fear.

DJ quickly assesses the room at what he could grab to hit this dude with and sees nothing.  He is acutely aware of his size against this guy. DJ sums up that this short, stocky guy must weigh at least 200 pounds. Just as those thoughts race through his head and adrenaline kicks in, DJ's friend, Harry, walks in.

Harry is gay.  Harry is very gay.  But DJ didn't care at that moment.  He needed him.  Whatever this guy had in mind, neither of those things were a possibility for DJ.  He genuinely wanted to hug Harry for walking in at that moment and Harry would have hugged him back.

Seeing Harry, the stocky guy continues to walk straight through the shower room.  In that short time, DJ realizes the situation was weird but he also knows he can't really say anything.

Harry and DJ had been friends for two years and had even gone out several times together to gay clubs. This was probably the first time DJ spoke with anyone he thought was gay in public in a way that could only be construed as "gay".

He didn't care.  Harry had just become DJ's best friend and Harry never knew it.

OTP: Ch 1. Pt 3.

DJ wakes up hungry. He’s just realizing he didn’t eat anything yesterday. That was something that happened regular enough.
DJ was a fairly passionate person.  When he found something he was truly passionate about something like food didn’t really grab his attention.
He barely ate any of the popcorn Payne bought. Plus the daiquiri from last night made his mouth rather dry, which probably made him more dehydrated than he is normally.
All day yesterday, DJ was dealing with Student Government issues or preparing for his date, which was really about him trying to hide it from his friends. He timed when he would shower and picked out his clothes the day before so no one would think the wiser.  He showered in the shower room that few people used at that time of day; in general, the upstairs bathroom right by his room was that shower room.
It was the same thing he did when he would sneak out to go clubbing with the few gay friends he made at Dawn.  DJ reasoned he had to do these things because so many people knew who he was.
Guys would randomly stop him to ask about things and was always amazed certain people even knew who he was.  The biggest question he would get was tickets to a concert or getting a pass to some event so a friend could attend.
DJ’s stomach started growling and loud too.  He didn’t want to wake Payne up.  He really wanted to slip out of his place without him knowing. He’s still asleep and DJ’s never been in Payne’s place before so he would not dare venture out of the room except to use the restroom.  If he could just get some water.
He had to use the restroom so he thought “maybe I can just drink water from the faucet as I wash off.  I can smell the sex on both of us.  That’s funny…last night all I could smell was….What’s his name? Damn! You just had sex with this man and you don’t even remember his name. What kinda shit is this? Don’t overreact. Just handle one thing at a time.”
Above: DJ in bed
DJ slowly moved off the bed, which was a problem he knew how to handle.  During the night’s activities he could hear the bed making noise so DJ slowly moved each part of his body off of the bed and was also trying not to have the bed move with the shifting of weight. Once he successfully handled that, somehow the door to the bedroom was closed.
As he opened the door, he half expected someone to be in the living room and find video equipment along with a group of Payne’s frat brothers going over the video from last night’s session but found the room to be the same as it was except for a burnt candle.  Again, he didn’t remember Payne placing a candle in the living room but DJ was more concerned about this monster piss he knew was coming.  After he finished with that he stood in front of the mirror and noticed a hickie on his neck just under the collar of the tee shirt he had on - the rest of him was bare of clothes.
“Fuck!” said DJ and loud enough for anyone to hear.  To himself he thought, “How the hell am I going to explain this?  Maybe I can wear my jacket for a few days. I told that fool I get marks, I’m lighter than he thinks I am.  Next time I’ll just make certain he doesn’t come close enough to my neck.”
On a deeper level, DJ wasn’t certain there should be a next time. Sure, he had fun but today he’s paying for it. He feels like Payne split him deep inside and that’s not a sensation he is used to. But he certainly liked how Payne knew what to do with his body and that it wasn’t soft and gentle.  Payne was rather rough and that was the first time DJ experienced that.  This was the first time he had been with a man who could match him physically in bed.
DJ had always been with others who either demanded that he be gentle on them or they were gentle with him.  He just thought that was the norm with men.  DJ had had sex with enough women to know that sex with them was varied but it almost seemed like it only mattered how she felt in that moment. Until Payne, DJ thought all men were soft and gentle with other men.  Payne offered some excitement and he liked that kind of excitement.
Still, DJ was also feeling a sense of shame for having sex with this man.  He felt no shame for the sex itself. Instead, he felt shame that he had sex on the first date.
He didn’t want to think of the implications. DJ hadn’t always practiced safe sex, at least not until after his first relationship. His first relationship was also with the first man he was with and everything happened so fast and in the most unexpected way that he simply tried to move on from that experience.
So, being with Payne was not something that made him question anything especially when he pulled out a condom.  He was relieved when that happened.  While he was in his relationship, his boyfriend insisted they both get tested. Hey were both negative.  DJ knew he would be okay because the women he had been with had all conceived by someone else so he assumed everything was good there.
As DJ finished cleaning himself, gargling water and brushing his teeth with his finger he decided to sit down and think about a few things.  The most pressing thing at this moment was remembering the name of the man with whom he had just slept the night with.  DJ’s memory was near excellent.  While serving as vice president, students at Dawn demanded their leaders learn their names.  Learning names, however, was not something he excelled at.  However, he learned how to make associations with names.
As DJ spent time thinking about Payne’s name he actually started snooping through Payne’s things.  Payne has a small bathroom; as soon as you walk inside there is the sink with a mirror above it.  Next to the sink is the toilet and maybe a foot away directly in from the toilet is a cabinet Payne used to hold his towels, grease, brush, comb and other toiletries.  Next to the toilet is the tub.  He didn’t think looking through the cabinet would hurt anything.
And just like that, he saw a name “Payne Chapman” written on a bottle of medicine, but even that didn’t look right. By now, he was certain Payne was the name of the man he had just had sex with but Chapman didn’t sound right.  This man has more than a little bit of mystery and it isn’t appealing.  But by this point, DJ was feeling the unmistakable desire to get his shit and leave.
And that’s when he heard Payne get out of the bed and walk toward the door.  DJ quickly placed the medicine back in its place. Payne knocked on the door and heard a deep melodic voice ask, “Are you okay.”
DJ opened the door and said, “Sorry. Yeah I’m good.  I was just washing off a little.”
“Oh. Would you like to take a shower with me?”  DJ wasn’t expecting that from him in this moment. He just knew that Payne was about to throw him out of his house. Instead, Payne invited him to stay longer. Of course DJ wanted desperately to leave to really wash this filth off of him. But the invitation was the intriguing thing. What were Payne’s true intentions for him? Was this more than just sex?  Did he really want something real? He decided to test Payne.
“I can shower with you, but I hope you know I can’t have sex again.” DJ knew Payne’s face would tell it all.
“That’s not a problem. That’s not why I’m asking anyway. I have to admit, I’ve never known anyone to be quite like you. You are so damn cute, sexy, a leader, and smart…those things are rare to find in one person.”  DJ squirmed when he saw the cheshire cat-like grin of Payne’s.
DJ knew Payne was lying about something but determined most of that statement was true. He assumed Payne meant all the lustful statements but the part about him being smart, he really hadn’t shown himself to be smart yet so how the hell could he know that.
DJ decided to shower with him and promised himself not to speak unless spoken to.  If Payne were truly interested he would ask questions in an effort to get to know him.  That had been the litmus test upon which DJ used most of his life to determine whether someone really wanted to get to know him. A person who talks about himself might be an entertaining conversation but it never allowed for growth, inquiry and knowledge, which happened to be the things DJ valued when making someone a friend.
Payne ran the water.  He liked the water really hot. DJ liked the water lukewarm but decided not to say anything.  He wanted to determine whether Payne would pick that up. Payne was already naked and hard but at this age being hard is rarely something to think of as odd.  DJ hopped in the shower behind him.  He allowed the water to fall over Payne’s perfectly sculpted upper body.  He noticed that Payne’s dark ass, thighs and legs were smaller than his chiseled torso and arms.
Just then, the steam from the water started to fill the tub. DJ could barely see and breathing was becoming a little difficult. Payne dipped his head to allow the water to run over his head and that’s when he noticed how slick Payne’s hair was. DJ let out a little laugh thinking Payne must have put something in his hair to get it that way.  The laugh caught Payne’s attention.
“What’s wrong? You laughing at my body?  I know. I wish I had a body more like yours.”
That’s when DJ realized this man really paid attention to his body at least.  He felt shame about his stomach. It was flat but he wasn’t blessed with a six pack.  DJ had formed his lips to ask a question but thought better of it.  He was waiting patiently for the soap in Payne’s hands to wash his body.
“Oh. I’m sorry.  I’m so used to showering by myself.  Here you go.  I’m done with the soap for now.  Do you want me to wash your back?”
“Yes.”  The suggestion hardened DJ, which put that silly ass grin back on Payne’s face. DJ had to suppress his eyes from rolling. After hearing DJ agree to him washing him, Payne kept the soap.
“What else do you want me to wash?”
“Whatever you want to wash.”
Payne lathered his hand towel again and made DJ turn around so he faced opposite the running water. With his right hand he placed the towel on DJ’s right shoulder.  With his left hand he held DJ’s waist then gently kissed the left side of his neck. DJ was caught in the moment but really started to panic because he didn’t want another hickie. Remembering his pledge to himself, he did not speak, he could only hear the noise of water bounce off of Payne’s body onto the tub as it ran into the drain.  But he could feel Payne poking him rather suggestively.  The water was so forceful and Payne moved side to side and up and down while washing DJ for enough of the water to bounce onto DJ’s slim frame.
DJ circled his neck around but not as forcefully as he would have liked. Instead, it came across like he was allowing Payne to continue to kiss him and that’s just what he did with his juicy lips.  He could feel Payne exhale onto his body.  It carried a sweet scent that was distinct from the soap. His hands continued to wash DJ’s body ever so gently.  It was so gentle that it was odd considering how forceful their sex had been.  DJ could see the trails of lather all over the side and front of his body move slowly with each new droplet added.  Payne was even more gentle as his hands held and washed DJ’s penis and balls; it was a sensual moment that caught DJ off guard.  He didn’t cum last night and he could have bust at any moment now that Payne was touching it and stroking it.  DJ made a quick prayer to himself, “Dear Lord, whatever this is please let it reveal itself to me sooner rather than later.” Payne was certainly not what he expected. It’s clear Payne is romantic but that doesn’t mean he wants DJ.
Right after DJ finished his prayer, Payne moved the towel between DJ’s ass cheeks and that surprised him so much they both almost fell.  Once they caught their balance, Payne laughed but DJ was angry. Payne thought the anger was about almost falling but DJ was mad because the forceful act preceded by the soft and romantic touches and kisses told him Payne only wanted to have sex.
DJ gestured for the soap and started washing himself.  Payne was puzzled. He didn’t realize that almost falling would have caused DJ to react in this way.  He was starting to realize that DJ was a bit moody.
After the shower, Payne quickly dried himself with an oversized pluff white towel then handed DJ a thin colored towel with a hole in it.  DJ didn’t say anything and simply opted to get out of there as fast as he could.  As he dried his body Payne left the bathroom to change into clothes.  DJ began his ritual of drying his chest first then placed the towel over his head and smelled what reminded him of football locker rooms in his high school after a football game.  “This fool don’t know how to wash towels.  He’s a nasty bitch!”
To be sure, DJ was once again turned off by what he was dealing with.  But DJ learned long ago never to make enemies with someone because someday that same person will become who you will need something from.
After he air dried, he headed to the bedroom and found his clothes neatly placed on the bed.  As he began putting on his clothes, he realized he couldn’t find his socks.  He felt like Payne was intentionally hiding them so he could stay longer. As he looked for the socks, he heard Payne make plans for the service project his chapter had that morning.  He heard him trying to explain something to his advisor about something he couldn’t make out.  Then another call where Payne was obviously discussing their service project with a member of their chapter.  DJ could tell Payne was late and the chapter seemed to want him present.  That’s when DJ remembered when and how his socks came off.  He found his socks, put them on and started lacing his shoes.  He went into the bathroom and placed water onto his head to wet his hair a little so it didn’t look like bed head; he took his fingers and used them as a comb.
DJ made his way to the living room and decided to wait for him to end his conversation before he left. As if on cue, Payne ended the conversation and unceremoniously asked to see DJ again.  Caught off guard, DJ asked, “Why?”
“I really wanted to get to know you last night.  As good as last night was I really wanted to get to know you.”
There had been too many mixed signals for DJ but not wanting to burn any bridges, he simply thought he should come up with a neutral response.
“You have my number.”
“Yes, I do.”
“Cool.”
As they left the apartment and walked back to their cars, Payne immediately called his friend Foster.  “Wake yo old bitch ass up.  Guess what just happened to me!”
“Bitch, I don’t know.  I’m just waking up.  Tell me.  I’m too old for this bullshit so early in the morning,” replied Foster.
“I just fucked the shit out of the student body vice president of Dawn!”
“Stop lying! His short ass just came to the motel last night and fucked the shit out of some lil dark-skinned girl.  How the hell he in two places at once?  I wanted to join them so I could lick on his chest. You think he got a big dick? I bet he got a big dick.  Ask your lil boy from last night if it’s big. I bet he had it.”
“Wait. What?”
“I’m gay but I know my voice not weak.  You heard me, bitch.”
“We were at my place all night last night.  Hold up.  You said he was short, right?”
“Yeah.  He’s short.  His name is Ivory.”
“Oh!  Not him.  The Vice President.  His vice president.  And let me tell you what he does with his legs…”

“DJ, guess what I’m doing right now.”
“I don’t know. What are you doing, Toni?”
“I’m passing out copies of the Campus Spectrum.”
“Why?  I thought you were supposed to be passing out copies of those receipts?”
“And that’s exactly what I’m doing.  You know how when some lame passes out fliers no one ever reads what they give you.”
“Yeah.”
“Well, we thought it would work better if we handed out the paper and then told them to read the receipts.  When I tell you no one threw their copy on the ground!  We were out where off campus students park.”
“Why did you do it there? Most of the students who really pay attention live on campus.”
“Well, we thought about that but that would put us too close to the Union and we wanted to ambush him.  If he found out too quick then he might have campus police try to stop up and my boyfriend can get a little crazy so that’s why we were out that way.”
“Damn.  That was actually smart.”
“Fucking right, I use this brain sometimes.”
“Hold on.  Chris is calling me.  Let me click over and find out what he wants.”
DJ clicks over.  He thought about adding Toni to the call but she might not understand what he was doing. “Hello.”
“DJ, wassup bruh. You know how the constitution says the President can call a meeting of the student body?”
“Yeah.  I’ve never known anyone to use that though.  Why?”
“Ivory wants to meet with the student body today.”
“Today?  Why today?”
“Have you not heard about the clothes?”
“Clothes? No.  What are you talking about?”
“Well, I can’t talk to you about that right now.  But Ivory pushed up a request to meet with students today.  The meeting is going to start in twenty minutes.  He wants everyone from the Executive branch to attend.  He says you will have a large platform to speak today.”
“Me?  Why me? What do I have to do with anything he does?”
“Man, I’m just the messenger.  It’s in the ballroom.”
“Well I’m actually at Brando Hall right now.  I can be there in five minutes.”
“Cool.  See you in a couple.”
DJ clicks over back to his conversation with Toni.
“Toni, guess what?  That lil fucka is scared.  He’s called a meeting of the student body.  The meeting is going to start in like 20 minutes.”
“Fuck! I’m already off campus.  You think I should turn around?”
“No.  Don’t do that.  If you come now then everyone will start to ask you questions and you might not have the answers and you will end up looking bad.  It’s best that he do this by himself because no matter what happens he will be the only person looking bad.”
“Cool.  Call me and tell me what happens.”
Just at that moment, DJ reaches the Student Union.  He sees more people in the Union than normal.  Today is Wednesday and this is the day that all Student Government members wear their SGA polos but out of defiance, DJ doesn’t wear his shirt. DJ realizes that none of the Senators are present.  He sends out a group text just in case shit goes left and he’s left out to dry.
A friend of Aaron’s (his friend from his hometown) pulls him to the side and asks whether DJ plans on talking during the meeting.  DJ doesn’t really understand her concern but tells her that he was asked to speak by Ivory so he was going to but he wasn’t planning on making a speech, per se.
“That’s not a good idea.  The minute you speak you future in Student Government will be tied to what Ivory did.”
“How did you find out about that so fast? You live on campus.”
“Well, a lot of people knew it was coming.  We were just asked not to say anything.”
DJ knew at that point that it was one of his friends that told.  But that wasn’t his concern at the moment.  The ballroom was filling fast but people didn’t seem to be too upset.  Maybe this was just a precautionary meeting he wants to have with just his supporters so it will look like people don’t believe what happened.  If so then that would be the smart play.
Chris taps DJ and asks, “Are you ready?”
“Ready for what exactly?”
“To speak.”
“I guess but you do realize I don’t have anything to report on.  All I do is the Student Senate.  All I can basically tell them is when the meetings are.”
“Well, if that’s all you have to say then you should say that.”
“Cool.”  But something about that exchange didn’t seem right.  Just then Ivory came up and pulled Chris away.  DJ wanted to be respectful and allowed them to speak but he could tell they were talking about him.  DJ really didn’t have anything to fear.  His role in this was minimal and if anyone found out he would simply say the students had a right to know.
“We are about to start. DJ, Ivory wants you to go up first.”
“Me.  Don’t nobody want to talk to me about this.  I’m not going up first.”
“Yeah.  I figured as much.  Okay. I think we can get the Activities Director to go up.  Everyone wants to hear about what he is pushing.”  Just as he expected, things went well.  Without asking DJ, Chris found the Senior Class president and he went up to talk about what his class was working on.  DJ expected more members of Epsilon to be present.  The Senior class president is Ivory’s line brother so it wasn’t clear whether he was present out of obligation to his post or to Ivory.
DJ felt like this would be an okay environment so he asked to go up.  He could hear some people in the back get a little rowdy but his voice is normally calm and so he’s learned how to keep a crowd calm as well.
“There isn’t much I can say.  As Vice President, I preside over the Student Senate.  There isn’t much else that I do.  I can tell you that the Senate meets twice a month and our next meeting is on next Tuesday.  Thank you.” That was actually a lie.  The Senate had just met yesterday but because of this he anticipated action and was ready to call a meeting for next Tuesday. As DJ was turning to walk off stage someone asked a question he couldn’t ignore because once it was asked everyone present wanted to know.
“Are you a class Vice President or the student body Vice President?”
DJ braced himself because he could then sense the frustration.  But he answered his question in a calm manner.  “I’m the student body Vice President.”
“So what are you going to do about Ivory spending all this money on some drawls? I mean I can buy him some from Walmart for $5.”  DJ let a smile through despite his better judgment.
DJ could hear Ivory beg him not to answer that question but DJ had to respond.  It wasn’t in DJ to hide the truth.  Better yet, DJ also knew how to answer questions without answering the question being asked.  This time, though, he decided to answer the question that wasn’t being asked.
“If you are asking me what I can do about these allegations, according to the constitution, there isn’t anything I can do.  I’m a member of the Executive Branch.”  Damn, that’s not how I wanted to say that.  Oh well.  I doubt anyone here will respond to that.
“But you are over the Student Senate.  You just said that.” Fuck. They were listening.
“Correct.  I preside over the Senate.  If a senator brings up an issue then as the presiding officer I can deal with it but until then, it’s not an issue I can even speculate about.”
“Aint this some shit.  Even if they do impeach him the Vice President is going to be just as bad as him.”  In shock, DJ leaves the stage and watches as everyone stares at him as if he is the problem.
But how could this be? He was working behind the scenes to bring this knowledge to the light. Everyone was turning on him for something Ivory did.
